Lyon airport (LYS Lyon Saint-Exupéy )
airport is about an hour and a half's drive away to the South.
The journey is about 75 miles or 120 kilometres. It is well served with car hire firms.
It is very close to the toll motorway system, head north from the airport onto the A432 then pick up the
A42 and A46 round the north of Lyon.
This eventually joins the A6 then follow the directions from the South.
Geneva airport (GVA Genève Aéroport)
is in Switzerland and is about two hour's drive away to the East.
However since it is on the border it has a French section which avoids the necessity of officially entering Switzerland.
However it is not a problem from the Swiss side, except that the Swiss still use Swiss Francs!
The journey is about 110 miles or 180 kilometres. It is well served with car hire firms.
It is very close to the French toll motorway system, head south from the airport on the A1a then
pick up the French A40 which becomes the A406 to Mâcon.
The A40 is an amazing motorway with many tunnels and high viaducts and consequently has a fairly high toll.
Follow the directions from the East when you leave the A406.
